Why 6×6 works well for logic
Six candidates are enough to create meaningful elimination without making the board visually dense. A single cage can intersect several row and column decisions, so progress often comes from a chain of small deductions rather than one large trick.
Exactly six values survive
The live Chain gives the format an extra constraint between puzzles. When one puzzle ends, six solved positions become fixed values in the next generated board. The new solution is different in the other 30 positions.
